Applications are welcomed from Indian nationals coming from booked classifications (SC, ST, somalibidders.com OBC, EWS and PwD (VH, OH, HH)) under unique recruitment drive for the post of Assistant Professor in the Departments of Aerospace Engineering, Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Cognitive Science, referall.us Computer Technology and Engineering, Design, Earth Sciences, Economic Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, Space, Planetary & Astronomical Sciences & Engineering (SPASE), Sustainable Energy Engineering, and Kotak School of Sustainability.

Several Departments likewise take part in the mentor and research activities of interdisciplinary post-graduate programs in the institute in Photonics Science and Engineering and Materials Science Program. Appointments for these programs are made in the pertinent departments among those noted above.

Minimum Qualification (Assistant Professor): Ph.D. with very first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, and so on) at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch, with an excellent academic record in all preceding degrees. For a fresh Ph.D, the position will be on contract basis for the first 3 years, and can be regularized afterwards. For those with 3 or more years of post-PhD teaching/research/industrial experience, regular appointment can be made.

The Institute follows booking in direct recruitment as per the arrangements of the Central Educational Institutes (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, 2019. The present unique drive ad is to fill 56 backlog jobs in reserved categories till 31st December 2024.

Other details:

1. The pay carries all other allowances as admissible to a Central Government worker stationed at Kanpur.

2. The benefits, such as LTC, medical re-imbursement, transport allowance, kids education allowance, contribution towards New Pension System (NPS), re-imbursement of telephone bills, book grants, HRA (if housing not supplied), research initiation grant (approximately Rs 25 lakhs with the provision to get an additional grant) and financial assistance towards national and international conferences will be allowed as per the Institute standards.

3. From its internal resources, the Institute provides an additional top-up income of Rs 25,000/- monthly for the first 3 years of service to the freshly signed up with professors members. After three years of service, the professor(s) are qualified for consideration for Young Faculty Fellowship (open for faculty of age upto 40 years) offering a top-up salary of Rs.15,000/- each month for three years, and/or Faculty Chair positions providing a top-up salary of Rs 25,000/- each month for 3 years. Both the positions are provided based upon performance.

4. Traveling allowance for signing up with: The Institute will compensate global travel expenditures for the recently signed up with professor and dependent member of the family to the maximum limit of Rs. 1,50,000. Domestic travel reimbursement will be according to federal government guidelines.

5. The Institute makes every effort to offer housing to all professors members. Your homes are equipped with totally free high-speed web.

6. Mere eligibility will not entitle a candidate for being required interview.

7. Applicants who do not fulfil the minimum experience requirements may be offered a visit on contract. The requirements of minimum credentials and/or experience might be relaxed when it comes to prospects with outstanding credentials.

8. The Institute follows the reservation in direct recruitment according to the arrangements of the Central Educational Institutes (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, 2019. The are needed to send the Caste/ Category/ Disabilities Certificate released by the Competent Authority in the format recommended by the Government of India for this function. The Institute follows the Central list when it comes to SC/ST, OBC & PwD.

11. Applicants called for and appearing in interview will be paid to and fro economy air fare/train fare by the quickest path (within India) and taxi fare from Lucknow airport to IITK and back. Please note that the quantity of fare shall be remitted through electronic transfer by our Accounts Section after processing the claim. Local hospitality will be taken care of by the Institute.

12. Applicants who are employed in Government or Semi-Government Organizations will be required to produce a “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE” from their employer at the time of the interview.
